| 564. Two Funerary Earthenware Figures (China, Ming Dynasty)
Lot includes two male earthenware standing figures hand painted with pigments. Both figurines wear a tall black cap, green robes. One holds a wheel, across his chest, under his left arm. Measures apprx 16"H. The second figure carries a tri-lobed object (possibly a hat) in his right hand. Measures apprx 15-1/2"H. Both figures are hollow and stand on a raised hexagonal base. Figures such as these often were buried with the deceased to serve and provide comfort items for the after world.
